UK-based Naturelly has moved its three flavor juicy jelly pot range to a complete recyclable direct printed solution from Greiner Packaging, and the redesigned cups arrived in UK retailers last summer.

Naturelly’s mission is to operate as sustainably and ethically as possible, and we wanted to find a better and more sustainable packaging solution for our juicy jelly pots.

Dean Dempsey, Naturelly Marketing and Innovations Director

Greiner Packaging offered us a complete solution, moving from cups with labels to fully recyclable direct printed thermoformed cups made from polypropylene (PP).

“Naturelly is a purpose-led business that aims to create a social impact and we currently do this in three ways. We impact on fruit waste by accepting wibbly-wobbly fruit, and we try our best to source surplus fruit, supporting our fruit farmers by paying them a fair price for their produce. We judge our fruits on taste not the way they look.”

“Secondly we want to make an impact on child obesity. All our products contain no added sugar and aim to be lower in sugar than other products on the market, with no artificial sweeteners. We want to help reduce child obesity whilst having a positive impact on their confidence and self-esteem, helping them to fulfil their natural potential.”

“Finally, we want to make an impact on animal welfare. Naturelly Juicy Jelly is gelatine-free and made from plants for a reason. We believe that because of the way gelatine is processed, it should not be given to children, and we aim to reduce the demand for gelatine in the food chain by creating great-tasting gelatine-free products for kids. We are proud to be vegan approved by The Vegetarian Society.

So, it's extremely important for us as a natural brand to consider the environment by using packaging that is sustainable and that can be recycled.

Available in summer fruits, forest fruits, and tropical fruit flavours, Naturelly Juicy Jelly Pots are a jelly plus added prebiotic fibre, made with real fruit juice. The 120g cups are ideal for pre-school, primary school lunch-boxes, after school snacks or as tasty treats on days out, casual gaming, keeping fit or playing sports.

“It has been fun working with the Naturelly family to transition them to a complete and more sustainable solution for its jelly pots range.” says Greiner Packaging UK & Ireland Sales and Marketing Director Julie Eller. “The funky new design is achieved in a direct printing process with food grade inks, and the lightweight PP cup is perfectly recyclable where appropriate recycling streams exist.”

“The team at Greiner Packaging are an absolute pleasure to work with,” concludes Dean Dempsey. “They are committed to help and support the growth of our business and overcome challenges with solution-led thinking. We are excited to know that through investment and innovation at Greiner Packaging’s factory in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, our juicy jelly pots will soon become even more sustainable.”
