Swiss company Eisberg AG has taken up a complete to-go solution for the convenience segment from Greiner Packaging. The subsidiary of the Bell Food Group is keeping pace with the to-go trend by offering a product that is extremely practical and popular – and not just for lunch breaks at the office.
The perfect salad to go
The basic idea, consisting of a cup made of PP and a top cup made of PET with an integrated chamber for dressing, is not a new one in Switzerland. Similar ready-to-eat salad concepts can be found on the shelves of almost all supermarkets today. They come in convenient packaging that even includes the dressing and cutlery. All that needs to be done is to mix the individual ingredients together, and the salad is ready to enjoy in no time – whether as a snack at the office or at home. But the solution for Eisberg AG stands out as a complete packaging solution including both a cup and a top cup. Featuring a shaker design, the solution comes entirely from Greiner Packaging and is supplied with maximum reliability.
The cup was originally produced and trademarked for Hilcona, which, like Eisberg AG, is also a Bell Food Group brand. However, in combination with a top cup, the company has also turned the product’s synergy effects to excellent advantage for Eisberg’s range of salads and dressings, which capture consumers’ attention in the refrigerated section in their attractive salad cups. The new shaker-type salad cups are sold in nearly all Coop supermarkets and at Coop gas stations throughout Switzerland.
The salad cups are another example of our strong partnership with Greiner Packaging. We especially like the shape of the packaging, which fits perfectly in the hand, takes up little space, and is perfect for on the go. Plus, the salad cups have a convenient shake feature. The portion size is ideal as well, and the product stays fresh for a long time.

The right packaging for ready-to-eat salads of any kind
This project on behalf of Eisberg AG underscores the expertise Greiner Packaging offers when it comes to innovative packaging solutions for ready-to-eat salads of any kind. Whether cups or tubs, single- or multi-chamber systems, with or without dressing on the side, lids, or cutlery – we have the solution. All that needs to be done is to mix the individual ingredients together, and the product is ready to be enjoyed in no time. Greiner Packaging’s solutions offer maximum protection and various barrier technologies that ensure products in the salad segment also stay as fresh as possible.
Communicating with the end consumer through the packaging is becoming increasingly important. This is also true for Danone, where recipes are printed directly onto the packaging.
