In 2020, a year dominated by COVID-19, Greiner Assistec and Greiner Packaging raised €7,141.80 in donations from the sale of its Greiner Visor protective shield. This amount has now been rounded up and a check with a value of €10,000 officially presented to Upper Austrian charity OÖ. Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe (Upper Austrian Children's Cancer Aid).
Greiner Assistec developed and launched the Greiner Visor in a quick response to the situation during the first lockdown in spring 2020. The new plastic protective shields offer reliable protection against COVID‑19 and were given out to Greiner Assistec and Greiner Packaging employees in exchange for donations. Other Greiner AG companies had the opportunity to purchase the visors for a reasonable price too, and employees could also pick them up for a small donation.
In addition, the visors were offered free of charge to numerous associations and organizations local to Greiner in Upper Austria. Where very large quantities were involved, donations were likewise gladly accepted. In total, these two initiatives raised €7,141.80 in donations. Greiner Packaging International GmbH has now rounded up this sum to €10,000.
Because the donations for the Greiner Visor were primarily raised through the visor distribution activities in Upper Austria, the company has decided to give the proceeds to a charitable society based in the region – OÖ. Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe. Its dedication to the health of children with cancer is in keeping with Greiner Packaging and Greiner Assistec’s aspiration to give something back to benefit health. Furthermore, important issues and diseases like cancer have, unfortunately, been pushed into the background this year due to COVID-19. That is why the company has decided to use this donation to recognize the work of OÖ. Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe as the end of the year approaches.
